Training Schedule and Descriptions

  • DCS will explain the Licensing/Investigation process
  • DCS will discuss when Unusual Incident Reports (UIR’s) should be completed and what should be included in the report
  • Open to all foster/adoptive and bio parents involved in any Clarvida programs

  • Group topic is open and will be identified on the night of group, based on the needs of participants

  • Training credit will be given on topic discussed in group

  • Define basic LGBTQ+ definitions and concepts around gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation

  • Review statistics of LGBTQ+ youth and mental health and explore why LGBTQ+ youth are at higher risk for depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation

  • Review best practices and scenarios participants might encounter when working with LGBTQ+ youth

  • Continuation of Part 1, including reviewing definitions, statistics and best practices when working with LGBTQ+ youth
