Training

Clarvida provides free training to help adults become licensed foster parents, and we provide ongoing support as they open their hearts to children in need of a safe, loving home.

To better serve the nearly 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system, we offer a variety of services.

Treatment Foster Care

We recruit, train, and license foster parents for a foster child who requires higher levels of behavioral support and/or clinical therapy.

Child and Family
Support Services

We provide comprehensive services to help establish and maintain safe, nurturing, stable, and supportive families.

Respite Care

We provide in-home and out-of-home care services to primary caregivers who are absent or need relief for a short period of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

It typically takes 1-3 months to complete the certification process depending on how quickly you move through the process. Sometimes the process can take up to 6 months. The length of time is largely influenced by how quickly you are able to complete the required steps.

Kids can be placed in your home anywhere from 6 month to a year. At times longer says are needed and extensions are granted.

You will receive a cost of care financial reimbursement of $73/night per youth for your first 6 months of certification and $75/night per youth after your first 6 months. We also offer a monthly stipend/bonus (on top of the nightly rate) to maintain certification.

You will receive 32 hours of specialized training prior to receiving a placement.

You can have 1-2 youth placed in your home at a time.

Your certifier will work with you during the certification process to identify placement matches. Placements will be screened based on your identified matches.

Yes, you can live in a house, townhouse or apartment. You do not need to be a homeowner.

Yes, foster families can be single, married, divorced or living with a partner.

Yes, this is not a disqualifying factor. We will provide training and support to help teach parenting skills.

Yes, this is not a disqualifying factor. We are happy to talk with you about your individual status.

This is not immediately disqualifying, though some crimes are. We are happy to talk with you about your individual situation.
