  • Alternative to Detention

    The Alternative to Detention Program provides stabilization, assessment, case coordination, system navigation, court appearance support, skills training, counseling, and parent support and coaching. The program serves youth involved with Multnomah and Clackamas County Juvenile Departments. The program provides services to youth and families for 60-90 days while living in Clarvida certified foster homes. Placing youth in an alternative to detention setting has proven effective in reducing a youth’s exposure to and engagement in criminal activity along with preparation for the next phase of transition, whether it’s returning home, stabilizing and strengthening the existing home and family structure, or moving to a more appropriate long-term living environment, such as independent living for older youth. Family preservation and reunification and successful transition is the overarching goal of each placement. Youth are referred to the Alternative to Detention Program by their Juvenile Court Counselor (JCC).

  • Child Specific Caregiver Support

    The program provides Child Specific Caregiver Support (CSCS) to Resource Parents in Lane, Linn, Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties. The program is designed to support caregivers of children with complex unmet needs, who without this service, may be at risk of placement disruption. The goal of the program is to help clients transition into and maintain within a community-based placement or with family by providing individualized services to the Caregiver(s) in order to support them in meeting the youth’s unique needs. The CSCS program provides hands-on parent-coaching for biological, kith/kin, resource and pre-adoptive caregivers, when a youth in the home has been identified by ODHS as qualified for this service. Supports may be provided virtually or via teleconference, however primary service delivery is typically in-person whenever possible and includes training, coaching, help with systems navigation, on- call phone support, and help identifying natural and community resources. ODHS Caseworkers are able to submit a referral through the ODHS FOCUS Team or by contacting their Regional Resource Consultant to obtain the referral documents.

  • Family Recruitment, Certification and Training

    We are licensed by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) to recruit, certify, and train Therapeutic Foster Families to care for youth ages 6-18 in ODHS and County Juvenile Department custody. Foster Families and homes are assessed during the certification process to ensure successful caregiving. Foster Parents are provided extensive training to care for youth with higher needs. Foster parents receive 24/7 support, weekly in-home support, financial support, monthly training, and breaks from caregiving.

  • Independent Living Program

    The Independent Living Program services assists Young People with their educational and employment skills, health education and access, Life Skills, healthy and supportive relationships, transportation, and housing needs. Services are provided to Young People ages 14-23. Services include individual skill building services, groups, and leadership opportunities.

  • Peer Parent Mentor

    The Peer Parent Mentor Program provides support to parents who are involved with ODHS. This service is provided by individuals who have personal experience with the child welfare system. Peer Parent Mentors provide strength-based, parent-driven, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and goal-focused contact during the time they are involved with ODHS. This service is provided to parents residing in Umatilla and Morrow Counties.

  • Respond and Support Network

    The Response and Support Network (RSN) program serves youth and families in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. RSN offers short-term support services with the goal of stabilization, and the ability to identify and connect families to more long-term supports. Services offered through RSN include Parent Mentoring, Peer Support, Care Coordination, Skills Training, 24/7 Crisis Response, and the ability to access Intensive Community Based Mental Health supports through a partnership with Catholic Community Services. Clarvida provides immediate non-clinical support for Adoptive Families, Families in Guardianship, and Resource Parents. Caregivers are able to self-refer by calling 503.341.4779 and making a request to open services for 60-90 days. ODHS Caseworkers are able to make a District Referral by contacting the Medical Liaison in their county.

  • Skills Training

    The program provides community-based Skills Training to youth of all ages in ODHS custody. Youth referred to the program have identified behavioral and/or mental health concerns that may lead to placement instability. Services may be provided to youth in non-relative, relative, and biological parent placements, and are offered at times identified as most relevant to the youth/family. Skills Trainers use a combination of games, activities, and curriculum along with evidenced based practices including Collaborative Problem Solving to help youth build Social-Emotional skills. Skills Trainers work to help improve communication, relationship, independent living, and community-based skills while increasing pro-social behaviors. We currently provide services in Columbia, Clatsop, Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lane, Umatilla and Morrow counties. ODHS Caseworkers are able to submit a referral directly to Clarvida.

  • Therapeutic Foster Care

    The program provides Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) to youth who need a higher level of care and are placed in Clarvida certified foster homes. Youth have often experienced a high level of trauma and struggle with emotion regulation and/or disruptive and challenging behaviors. The program implements a trauma-informed parenting approach, helping youth to stabilize and allowing them to begin building their strengths in the community and with a family. The program provides case management, skill building, individual counseling, parent training, individualized service referrals, aftercare planning and support. Clarvida provides comprehensive training and intensive support to our therapeutic foster homes 24 hours a day. The program serves youth from all counties across Oregon. Youth need to qualify for BRS services and can be referred by ODHS Regional Resource Consultants.

  • Youth Mentoring

    Youth Mentoring services are community based and aim to provide a safe, stable, and predictable relationship with a trusted adult. The program offers mentoring services to youth of all ages in ODHS custody who may be at risk of placement instability due to difficult or challenging behaviors. Mentors will offer direct coaching, skills training, and experiences in the community to practice, observe, and teach pro-social skills. Mentoring services seek to improve a youth’s awareness of their emotional state and increase self-regulation skills. These services are youth driven, empowering them to identify goals and opportunities for personal development. We currently provide services in Columbia, Clatsop, Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lane, Umatilla and Morrow counties. ODHS Caseworkers are able to submit a referral directly to Clarvida.
